Since acquiring the property in 1999, the City of Hamilton has been working to preserve
Auchmar and plan for its future. The City is currently developing a long-term plan for the
property’s future use and stewardship. Please note that Auchmar Estate is currently closed to
the public except for select community events and pilot initiatives.

  • What to Expect

    Auchmar is a historic property and is not currently operating as a traditional event or studio venue.

    • Limited availability: Access is currently limited to the pilot dates and requires approval.
    • City staff onsite: City staff will be onsite during approved uses.
    • Clean and prepared spaces: The areas being used will be fully cleaned and prepared before activities.
    • Outdoor washrooms: There are currently no washrooms inside the estate. Outdoor washrooms will be provided for guests.
    • Heating: The space is heated.
    • Signage: Appropriate signage will be provided throughout the areas being used.
    • Respecting the property: All activities must be appropriate for the historic building and grounds, and users are expected to treat the property with care.
